Nick has had a great season, winning his first title in Washington and then making it to the Wimbledon final. Nick has played four matches in the US Open, and has only lost two sets so far, to Bonzi and Medvedev, and knocked out Kokkinakis and Wolf. His match against Medvedev lasted two hours and 53 minutes, and Kyrgios won in four sets. In the first set, he won a long tie-break game 13-11, then Daniil took the second 6-3, but lost the third and the fourth, 3-6, 2-6. Kyrgios had 21 aces and seven double faults, winning 75% of his first-serve points and 46% of his second-serve points. On the receiving end, he had the following statistics: 25%/56%, 53/38 winners/unforced errora. Note that Medvedev is likely to lose his status as the world No. 1 after this loss.

Nick Kyrgios after beating Daniil Medvedev.
“I didn't over-celebrate. It's only the fourth round, I've got quarter-finals next. But it was an amazing experience obviously taking down the number one player in the world on Arthur Ashe Stadium. I don't really like to celebrate too much after that because I know that if I played him nine more times, he's probably getting on top of me the majority of the time. I hadn't won a match on Ashe before this week, now I've won two against two quality opponents, and I feel like I've been able to showcase my talent. There's a lot of celebrities here, a lot of important people here watching. I wanted to get on that court and show them I am able to put my head down and play and win these big matches. It's a great win, but I come off the court and I'm just almost relieved that it's over because there's just so much pressure every time I go out on court, so much expectation, so much unpredictability of what I can do.”

Karen was already surprising in a good way at the U.S. Open. Many were expecting Karen in the fourth round, but very few expected Khachanov to beat Pablo Carreño-Busta, who had just won one of the North American Masters. The match against the Spaniard lasted almost three and a half hours, the guys played five sets, but did not play any tie-breaks. Khachanov lost the first set. Khachanov had 11 aces and six double faults, 78%/66% serving, 29%/50% receiving, 43/22 winners/unforced errors. Khachanov will definitely move up to No. 24 in the ATP rankings, maybe even higher, depending on the result of the upcoming game.

Shamil Tarpischev
"Khachanov will have chances to beat Kyrgios. The main thing is that you can't lose your serve. You have to serve evenly and make sure that the first serve is under 70%. Then Karen will be able to control the game positively. Khachanov is serving well. The first serve is not so clear for the opponent, so he has the advantage during the draw and finishes the opponent by means of long blows. The key to success with Kyrgios is to serve well."

Nick and Karen played each other twice and the score was 1-1. Khachanov won in Cincinnati in 2019 2-1, and Kyrgios took revenge five months later at the Australian Open 3-2.

Both tennis players serve well, both overall and at the U.S. Open specifically. If the opponents serve well, we should expect a long match, at least a four-set one. As for the outcome, Nick Kyrgios looks more preferable. The Australian is now in the best shape of his career, and for a reason. Kyrgios defeated Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round, thus depriving the Russian of the world crown. Here are the betting options for the meeting:
