Zambia vs Zimbabwe Prediction: The defending champions will secure their first three points here

The Chipolopolo of Zambia will face off against Zimbabwe at the Wolfson Stadium on Sunday in the second round of the COSAFA Cup tournament. Zambia lost their opening game as the title holder and will be desperate to secure the maximum points against a Zimbabwe team who won their first game.

The six-time COSAFA winners head into this match on the back of a defeat against Kenya. They're one of the most successful teams in the history of the tournament.

Zambia enjoyed a great outing in the 2023 edition when they defeated Lesotho in the finals. They have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the competition.

They are ranked the 90th best national team in the world according to FIFA and have picked up twelve points from a possible fifteen in the last five COSAFA matches.

Zimbabwe

The Warriors have played just five games in this tournament for the past three years as they began their journey with a (0-1) victory over Comoros. Michael Tapera scored after the break to amass all the points for his side in their opening match. 

Zimbabwe have picked up five points from their last five COSAFA games, scoring six and conceding four times. 

The Warriors' most recent outing earned them a fifth-place finish in 2021.

Expert Betting Tips

Over their previous eight meetings, Zimbabwe have won four while Zambia have recorded four wins. The Chipolopolo had a terrible start to their campaign, losing by two goals. They played the game with ten men on the pitch and they’ll be keen to make amendments here. At the same time, Zimbabwe had a decent start when they scored once against Comoros in their opening match.
