Although the win was in the right direction, it is still a long way to go for Coventry to solidify their claim as promotion contenders, lying in 18th position in the Championship standings and seven points adrift from the playoff spots. Coventry will seek their fourth successive win when they meet Middlesbrough next weekend, a record recently achieved after finishing the season with a 3-0 win over the Teesiders back in May 2023 and securing their ticket to Wembley and the playoff final.
