OKC Thunder

The Thunder had a very confident regular season. The young team, which last season lost in the play-in, now not only went directly to the playoffs, but did it with the first seed of the West.

Much of Oklahoma's success has come at the expense of progress on defense. While the offense has remained about the same compared to last season, the team has moved from 19th to 11th in the rankings and is now allowing 112.7 points per game on average (up from 116 last season).

NO Pelicans

The Pelicans missed the sixth line in the Western Conference and had to make it to the first round of the playoffs through the play-in. New Orleans lost to the Los Angeles Lakers (106:110) for the seventh seed, but took the eighth seed from Sacramento (105:98).

Note that in the play-in another injury was Zion Williamson. Participation of the first number one of the draft 2019 is excluded, at least in the opening game of the series with Oklahoma.
