Friendly matches between fierce rivals: Accumulator Tip for July 31

Most of the European teams are fully focused on preparations and friendly pre-season matches in order to get in form for the start of the new season. This Wednesday we will see something unusual, a friendly match between city rivals Valencia and Levante, Feyenoord will welcome Monaco while Granada will face Seville. The new season is right around the corner and these friendly matches are more like championship matches, filled with excitement, fight, and competitiveness.

We don’t get to see many friendly matches between city rivals, but Valencia and Levante are playing a friendly before the start of the season for several years in a row. Valencia will compete in La Liga next season while Levante in La Liga 2 as they failed to get promotion last season. In the friendly matches, Levante shows better form, but Valencia are playing with many different players, and they aren’t finished with transfers for this summer yet. In the last two friendly matches, we saw that both teams wants to get a win against the city rival and start the season in a positive mood, and we saw only one goal when Valencia won 1:0 in 2021. Interestingly, these teams have never played a match against each other throughout history even though both regularly play in European competitions. Feyenoord were doing well in the friendly matches until the match against Benfica in which they were embarrassed and defeated 5:0. Monaco still haven’t won in a friendly match, but both teams are playing offensive football, so this should be a very interesting duel with many goals.

These teams were part of the La Liga last season and both of them were playing and finished below the expectations. Sevilla finished in the lower part of the table and Granada were relegated to the La Liga 2. Sevilla won twice in the last season with same result 3:0, and now even though they are struggling in the friendlies they are more quality than Granada. I expect Sevilla to win confidently as they are a team from the first league and a team with high ambition and expectations for the next season. Granada will try to get back in the La Liga, but their form and performances are very poor recently.
