The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has decided to ban a fan from all tournaments it oversees after he stalked British tennis player Emma Raducanu during the tournament in Dubai.
In her second-round match on Tuesday, Raducanu lost to Czech player Karolina Muchova. According to the Daily Mail, during a short break while the score was 2-0 in favor of Muchova, the 22-year-old Brit became emotional and was seen talking to the chief referee. At that moment, a man from the stands started shouting at Raducanu, prompting security to remove him from the match.
According to WTA information, Raducanu faced a stalker. The player holds a Grand Slam singles title, having won the 2021 US Open, and she has also claimed one WTA tournament title in the same category.
