Tennis Player Raducanu Rejects Sanitizer Use Amid Doping Concerns

Twenty-two-year-old British tennis player Emma Raducanu has chosen not to use sanitizer at the Australian Open 2025 due to fears of violating anti-doping regulations, as reported by The Telegraph.

According to sources, Raducanu was bitten by ants, resulting in swelling in her hands and ankle. The athlete decided to avoid sanitizers to minimize the risk of accidentally contaminating herself with banned substances and failing a doping test.

In late November, Polish tennis player and world number two Iga Swiatek tested positive for a banned substance. During her one-month suspension, she missed three tournaments.

Raducanu is set to participate in the 2025 Australian Open, scheduled from January 12 to 25 in the women's singles category. The current champion is Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus, who holds the top spot in the world rankings.

Additionally, Iga Swiatek has spoken about the support she received from other athletes in light of the controversy surrounding her positive doping test.
