Stefanos Tsitsipas Sacks Father as Coach

The world’s 11th-ranked tennis player, Greek athlete Stefanos Tsitsipas, announced on his social media pages that his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, will no longer serve as his coach.

Tsitsipas expressed regret over the end of their coaching relationship, thanking his father for his years of support, hard work, and sacrifices. He emphasized that his father will continue to play the role of a parent and will travel with him, providing support off the court.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my cooperation with my father as a coach has come to an end. I prefer to keep my father in his role as a father, and only as a father. I have trusted my father with the coaching role for so many years, and I consider our partnership a success. I’m not sure who will take over, and I’m not in a position to decide yet.

Additionally, he mentioned that he will continue to work hard on his game and hopes this experience will serve as a valuable lesson for him and other athletes. Tsitsipas had previously criticized his father’s coaching following an early exit from the ATP tournament in Montreal, Canada.
