Esports organization Team Spirit has officially signed a contract with a young esports player.
Initially, videos of Amir Darchinov gained popularity on social media, catching the attention of “the Dragons." As a result, the organization decided to take the young player under its wing.
However, Darchinov is not yet 10 years old. Despite his age, he already boasts an impressive ELO of 2355 and has logged 8000 hours in the tactical shooter Counter-Strike. The boy's parents announced the contract signing on their social media.
In an interview with Telegram blogger Evgeny Raiz, representatives from Team Spirit noted that there is still much work to be done with the young player:
Amir has been officially signed. It is too early to talk about competing in teams. There is still a lot of work ahead. We'll see what comes of this.
Despite this exciting development, the esports platform FACEIT has already blocked Darchinov's account. According to FACEIT's policies, players must be at least 13 years old to compete on their servers. In response to objections on social media, FACEIT emphasized its commitment to legal obligations.
