Liren and Dommaraju Draw in Eighth Round of World Chess Championship

The eighth round of the World Chess Championship match between reigning world champion Ding Liren from China and Indian grandmaster Gukesh Dommaraju ended in a draw.

The game, in which Ding Liren played with the white pieces, ended on the 51st move. The overall score in the match remains tied at 4-4. The ninth game is scheduled for December 5.

The championship match will continue until December 13 and consists of 14 classical chess games. In the event of a tie, a tiebreak will be played. The tournament has a prize pool of $2.5 million.
