UFC American middleweight Bo Nickal has criticized the wrestling skills of undefeated welterweight Khamzat Chimaev. Nikal is convinced that Chimaev's wrestling regalia was won in confrontations with high school kids.
"If we talk about his wrestling, he essentially wrestled with high school kids in Sweden as a 25-year-old man. There's really not much to say here," Nickal said in an interview with Michael Bisping.
Chimaev, 28, last fought at interim weight against American Kevin Holland in the co-main event of UFC 279 this past September. The Chechen won that night with a chokehold in the first round. He has 12 wins and no losses under his belt.
Nikal, 26, last fought this September on Dana White's Contender Series 2022 qualifying show, defeating Donovan Beard by submission (triangle choke) in the first round. He has five wins and no losses under his belt.
