Prochazka Explains Desire to Move to UFC's Middleweight Division

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka of the Czech Republic responded to a question about whether he is still interested in moving up to the middleweight division.

Prochazka said on his YouTube channel:

I've been considering that if Adesanya wins, I will stay in the light heavyweight division but if Du Plessis wins, I'll follow him. I'll clear things up there and take the belt. But I feel good and strong in the light heavyweight division, even if the guys there are a bit heavier.

Prochazka last fought against Alex Pereira in June 2024 at UFC 303. In that fight, which was stopped in the second round, Jiri was defeated by technical knockout. He has 30 wins, five losses and one draw on his record.

Du Plessis defeated Israel Adesanya by fourth-round choke at UFC 305 in August 2024 to defend his middleweight belt. He has 22 wins and two losses under his belt.
