Former two-weight Bellator champion Patricio Freire discussed his upcoming fight against Yair Rodriguez, scheduled for April 13 at UFC 314 in Miami, USA.
Patricio Freire in an interview with Megan Olivi
A fight with Yair Rodriguez puts me in a great place in the division. So, if my performance is really good, I believe I will fight for the title. He’s good, he’s very dynamic, but I’m better. I put pressure on him, put him down, and smash him. That’s what’s going to happen.
Freire last fought against Jeremy Kennedy in March 2024 at a Bellator event in Belfast. Patricio won that match in the third round by technical knockout. His overall record stands at 36 wins and seven losses.
Rodriguez last entered the octagon against Brian Ortega in February 2024 during UFC Fight Night 237. That fight, which was stopped in the third round, ended with Yair losing by submission. He has a record of 19 wins and five losses.
