The UFC press office has officially announced a matchup between American fighter Cory Sandhagen and Brazilian athlete Deiveson Figueiredo, scheduled for May 4 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Sandhagen last fought Umar Nurmagomedov in August 2024 at UFC on ABC 7. That bout went the full distance, with Cory suffering a loss by unanimous decision. His professional record stands at 17 wins and five losses.
Figueiredo's most recent octagon appearance was against Petr Yan in November 2024 at UFC Fight Night 248. This fight also went the full distance and ended with Deiveson losing by unanimous decision. He holds a record of 24 wins, four losses, and one draw.
