British welterweight Leon Edwards is confident that if he defeats Sean Brady, he will face the winner of the match between UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena.
Edwards and Brady will headline UFC Fight Night 255 on March 22 in London, England. The fight between Muhammad and Maddalena is scheduled for May 11 at UFC 315 in Montreal, Canada.
If Belal beats him, then, like I said, the rematch is there for me as well. I spoke to the UFC. They told me that after this win, this a is No. 1 contender fight. Whoever wins this fight for the title, well, when I win this fight, I fight for the title. That is my aim.
Edwards last fought against Belal Muhammad in July 2024 at UFC 304. That fight went the distance, and Leon lost by unanimous decision, losing his championship title. His professional record stands at 22 wins and four losses, with one fight ruled a no-contest.
Brady last fought in the octagon against Gilbert Burns in September 2024 at UFC Fight Night 242. That bout also went the distance and ended in a unanimous decision victory for Sean. His professional record is 17 wins and one loss.
