UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya believes Conor McGregor had the best chance to defeat former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

I'm sure Conor took the wrong approach. He should have attacked a little differently, because he was the closest to beating Khabib. He wasted a lot of energy before the fight.
McGregor and Khabib met in the Octagon in October 2018 at UFC 229. That fight ended with Conor losing by a painful submission in the fourth round.
McGregor last fought against American Dustin Poirier last July at UFC 264, a fight the Irishman lost by technical knockout after breaking his leg at the end of the first round. He has 22 wins and six losses in MMA.
