
Cam Allen, a defenseman for the London Knights and prospect for the Washington Capitals, has been charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Dailyfaceoff. The 20-year-old hockey player is set to appear in court on March 6.
Allen was involved in an accident that resulted in injuries to his passenger, who was subsequently hospitalized. The police press release details charges related to traffic violation, exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit, and failing to report an accident.
Washington selected Allen in the 2023 NHL Draft with the 136th pick, and he signed a rookie contract in the summer of 2024. Previously, the defenseman played for the Guelph Storm and represented Canada in international tournaments, winning gold at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2022 and bronze at the Junior World Championship in 2023.
