
Former Canadian hockey player Marcel Bonin has passed away at the age of 93, as confirmed by the NHL press office. Bonin died on Sunday morning surrounded by his loved ones.
He played in the NHL from the 1952-53 season to the 1961-62 season and won the Stanley Cup four times: once with the Detroit Red Wings in 1955 and three times with the Montreal Canadiens in 1958, 1959, and 1960. Bonin also participated in the NHL All-Star Games five times during his career.
Throughout his professional career, Bonin played a total of 454 regular-season games in the NHL, representing Detroit, Boston, and Montreal, and earned 272 points, including 97 goals and 175 assists.
