Zidane Could Take Over at PSG If Enrique Is Dismissed

According to Transfer News Live, Paris Saint-Germain's management might appoint Zinedine Zidane as head coach if current manager Luis Enrique fails to meet his objectives.

The source reveals that PSG's top executives are considering the possibility of firing the Spanish coach should the team fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League knockout stage. Zidane is seen as the main candidate to replace Enrique.

Zidane's last managerial position was with Real Madrid, where he led the team to two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey victories, and three UEFA Champions League titles. He stepped down from his role in May 2021.

On November 26, PSG lost narrowly to Bayern Munich, falling 0-1 in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage. After five matches, PSG currently sit in 25th place in the tournament table, having earned four points.

Previously, Luis Enrique set an unwanted record in the Champions League after the 0-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in this stage.

According to Opta Sports, PSG have no chance of qualifying directly for the Round of 16 based on their current group stage performance.
