Francesco Totti, former player for AS Roma and the Italian national team and a 2006 World Cup champion, discussed the decreasing loyalty of footballers to their clubs in an interview with marvelbetgames.com.
– You played your entire career with one club. It is quite rare, almost unique. Why do you think there are so few players who show loyalty to just one team these days?
– I was fortunate to make that decision and spend my entire career at one club. I am very happy about it. In the past, players really showed greater loyalty to their clubs and their colors. Now football started to look more like a business.
Francesco Totti had a professional career from 1993 to 2017, spending it all with Italian club Roma, where he won the league and Italian Cup. He also represented the Italian national team from 1998 to 2006, earning a silver medal at Euro 2000 and winning the World Cup in 2006.
