Roy Keane Criticizes Bruno Fernandes' Apology to Erik Ten Hag

Bruno Fernandes recently issued a televised apology to former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after his dismissal due to a poor start to the Premier League season. In a post-match interview with Sky Sports following the team's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, Fernandes stated that the players could have done more to keep the manager in the team.

Former United captain Roy Keane remarked that such apologies often come too late:

Roy Keane
These are always awkward interviews for players but I wouldn’t have much time and patience for the player to say, ‘listen, sorry, we let you down’. Too little, too late. We’ll judge what you’re doing on the football pitch. I don’t think Bruno has done enough in a lot of the games already.

Bruno Fernandes has played 339 matches for Manchester United since joining the club in January 2020, scoring 82 goals and providing 71 assists.
