Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior Names Best Player of Champions League Third Week

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been named the best player of the third week of the Champions League group stage, according to a UEFA press release on the association's official website.

In the third round of the competition, Real Madrid won a hard-fought victory over Borussia Dortmund with a score of 5-2. Junior scored a hat-trick in the game.

For the whole group stage, 36 clubs will form a table after eight matchdays. The top eight teams will proceed to the knockout stage, while the clubs ranked ninth to 24th will face off in playoffs for the chance to enter the round of 16.

Neymar, the 32-year-old forward for Al-Hilal and the Brazilian national team, believes that Real Madrid's forward Vinicius Junior should be awarded the Ballon d'Or.
