Real Madrid Goalkeeper Sets a Unique Achievement in 21st Century

In a match of the 13th round of the 2024/25 Spanish La Liga season played on November 9, Real Madrid defeated Osasuna 4-0. Ukrainian goalkeeper of los Blancos, Andriy Lunin, achieved a unique feat in this game.

In the episode that led to the third goal scored by Madrid, Lunin made an assist which made him the first Real Madrid goalkeeper since 1993 to make an assist in a La Liga match. The last player to achieve this feat was Paco Buyo in 1993.

Real Madrid are currently in second place in the Spanish league table with 27 points.

Lunin has been playing for the club since July 2018. He has played a total of 53 games for the Spanish team, conceded 59 goals and kept 18 clean sheets.

Earlier, Realmadridexclusivo reported that the management of los Blancos is considering replacing Lunin after the crushing defeat to Barcelona (0-4).
