According to SimplyUtd, Austria's head coach Ralph Rangnick might be returning to Manchester United.
The 66-year-old coach could take on the sporting director position for the Red Devils following the dismissal of Dan Ashworth from the club.
Rangnick served as Manchester United's interim head coach starting December 3, 2021, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal. He managed the team until the end of the 2021/22 season, stepping down on May 29, 2022, to take charge of the Austrian national team.
It’s worth noting that Rangnick was expected to transition into a consulting role with Manchester United after the 2021/22 season; however, due to requirements from the Austrian national team, he could not combine duties with the Red Devils.
Currently, Manchester United is sitting in 13th place in the Premier League, with 19 points after 15 matches.
