Marca: Saudi Arabia Withdraws from Joint Bid for FIFA World Cup 2030

Saudi Arabia has refused to submit a bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2030 due to competition, reported the Spanish edition of Marca.

Earlier it was reported that Saudi Arabia would submit a joint bid together with Greece and Egypt. According to a source, the country's foreign minister informed the partners about the withdrawal from the joint project.

The reason for this decision is the idea that it is impossible to compete with the joint bid of Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile also compete to co-host the tournament.

Last year's World Cup was held in Qatar in 2022. The winner was Argentina, which defeated the French national team in the final in a penalty shootout.
