Manuel Neuer Doesn't Rule Out Ending International Career After Euro 2024

The 38-year-old goalkeeper and captain of Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the German national team Manuel Neuer has said he will consider leaving the team after the end of the home European Championships in 2024.

The goalkeeper told a press conference with journalists:

Will Euro 2024 be my last tournament with the German national team? I can't reveal that yet. I'll turn my mind to it after the tournament.

Neuer became world champion in 2014 with Germany, as well as bronze medallist of the World Cup 2010 and bronze medallist of the World Cup 2012 and World Cup 2016.

On 14 June, Julian Nagelsmann's men won the opening match of the tournament in Munich with a 5-1 victory over Scotland. This win was the biggest in the history of the national team's participation in the continental championship.
