French defender of Lokomotiv Gerzino Nyamsi assessed France's performance at the European Football Championship taking place in Germany and evaluated the team's chances in the Round of 16 match against Belgium.
I think this year will be tough for the French national team at the European Championship. Currently, all teams in the tournament are playing good football. Everyone has very strong defenses, making it hard to score. Our fans are unhappy with the team's low scoring rate in the group stage. We are all looking forward to the match against Belgium – it's like a derby for us. I believe France will win. We all hope that France will win the European Championship, and Mbappé, Griezmann, or Dembélé will finally score their goals in this tournament.
The Euro Football Championship Round of 16 match between France and Belgium will take place on July 1 in Dusseldorf. The opening whistle from the main referee Glenn Nyberg will sound at 19:00 GMT+3.
In the group stage, the French national team finished second in Group D, accumulating five points. The French defeated Austria (1-0) and had draws against the Netherlands (0-0) and Poland (1-1). Belgium also secured the second spot in their group with four points in the quartet with Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
