
Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has been recognized as the best player of the week following the seventh round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
In a crucial match, the Colchoneros defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-1, with Alvarez scoring both goals to secure a comeback victory for his team. With 15 points, Atletico currently sit in fifth place in the standings.
According to UEFA's press service, the Argentine striker beat Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid), Raphinha (Barcelona), and Luuk de Jong (PSV) to that title.
Previously, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka was named the best player of the sixth week in the Champions League. Notably, the legendary footballer Ronaldinho did not include Cristiano Ronaldo in his symbolic Champions League team.
