Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former star striker for AC Milan and now a club advisor, has shared insights about his current role within the team.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic for GQ
My role doesn't matter. The main thing is Milan. I prefer to stay in the shadows, I don't even want to be credited with anything. When I was playing, everything revolved around me. Today, I am a bodyguard: if someone is going to be shot, let them shoot me. I want to protect the team and the club. I'm not afraid because I'll shoot back twice. So I can be a target.
As for the current Serie A standings, AC Milan is positioned seventh after 26 rounds. The club has played 25 matches, earning a total of 41 points. They are eight points away from the fourth spot, which grants a place in the upcoming UEFA Champions League.
Previously, it was reported that the management of AC Milan was furious over their elimination from the Champions League.
