Griezmann Plans Return to French National Team

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is planning to return to the French national team, with which he parted ways on September 30, 2024. This information was reported by Get France Football News, citing journalist Romain Molina.

According to the source, the 33-year-old player hopes to emulate the story of Zinedine Zidane, the former French midfielder who returned to the national team one and a half years after announcing his retirement from international football and went on to become captain during the 2006 World Cup.

It has been noted that in recent years, Griezmann has felt undervalued within the national team. He was particularly affected by the appointment of Kylian Mbappe as captain following the departure of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris from the team.

Griezmann was the top scorer for France in the Euro 2016 tournament, scoring six goals. He also became a world champion with les Bleus in 2018.

The next match for the French national team is scheduled for October 10 at 21:45 GMT+3 against Israel as part of the third round of the Nations League.
