Former Sporting forward Vitali Kutuzov evaluated Sporting’s performance under Ruben Amorim, and also shared his thoughts on his move to Manchester United.
“It’s hard to say how Amorim’s career will go. He was working in one place, knew his roster, built relationships with management, and kept everything under control. After Amorim left for Manchester United, there was an earthquake at Sporting. There's no guarantee the new coach will perform better than Amorim. Anyway, he will need some time to adapt," Kutuzov said.
In England, Amorim is expected to earn points every Sunday, and he still has to adjust. But no one at Manchester United will wait for him to adapt. They always demand immediate results. If he doesn’t succeed soon, they’ll quickly part ways and look for new solutions. Modern football is harsh; nobody cares about your good looks or a strong background anymore.
Amorim took charge of the Manchester side partway through the season, with Eric ten Hag having managed the team previously. After 20 matches, Manchester United are currently in 13th place in the Premier League, with 23 points, scoring 23 goals and conceding 28.
Amorim’s Manchester United will play their next match on Sunday, January 12, against Arsenal in London. The match will take place in the 1/32 finals of the FA Cup and is scheduled to start at 18:00 GMT+3.
