Former Barcelona Player Deco Appointed Sporting Director Of The Club

Former Barcelona player Deco, who also played for FC Porto and Chelsea, has been appointed sporting director of the Catalan club. The Portuguese played for the Blaugrana from 2004 to 2008.

The club's website reports that the agreement with the 45-year-old Portuguese is designed for three seasons. Deco will work together with Mateu Alemany until the close of the transfer window on September 2, and then Mateu will leave his post.

Recall, Deco twice won the championship and the Super Cup of Spain, as well as became the owner of the Champions League in the season-2005/06. Also, the Portuguese won the European Cup in Porto in the season-2003/04 under the leadership of Jose Mourinho.
