According to Football Insider, Viktor Gyökeres, a forward with Lisbon's Sporting and the Sweden national football team, has the opportunity to join Premier League club Arsenal.
Sources reveal that Arsenal’s management has begun discussions about the transfer of the 26-year-old Swedish forward of Hungarian descent during the summer transfer window of 2025.
Gyökeres has been playing for Lisbon since July 2023. In the 2024/2025 season, the Sporting forward has made 29 appearances in the Primeira Liga of Portugal, scoring 34 goals and providing seven assists, as well as appearing in eight UEFA Champions League matches, where he scored six goals. His contract with the Lisbon club runs until the end of June 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates Gyökeres at 75 million euros.
On January 10, ESPN reported that Barcelona are also interested in the forward, and they are looking to negotiate a lower transfer fee for the player.
