Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez says the win against Wolves is a step in the right direction and urged his teammates to keep the momentum going in what has been a positive week for the Blues.
England under-21 star Noni Madueke scored his first career hat trick as Chelsea turned on the style in a dominant second-half display to beat Wolves 6-2. Nicolas Jackson scored the fastest Chelsea goal in seven years after reacting instinctively to head home the opener. Matheus Cunha equalized for the hosts before Cole Palmer restored Chelsea’s lead.
Then, just before halftime, Wolves were back on level terms thanks to Jørgen Strand Larsen. However, Madueke took matters into his own hands, scoring three times. There was also time for Joao Felix to make his second debut and score, wrapping up one of the most impressive wins of the season.
Mate, congratulations to Noni [Madueke]. He deserves it. He’s started the season on fire and is working so hard in training. I think we played a good game, and we have to continue with this same hunger and determination. That is the way to go—we have a lot of games this season, and we need everyone, so hopefully, we can build on this now.
Chelsea will now turn their attention to the second leg of the Conference League playoff this week, where they will travel to Switzerland to take on Servette before returning to play Crystal Palace at home in the final league game before the first international break of the season.
