Carvajal Responds to Vinicius's Call to Relocate World Cup 2030 from Spain

Real Madrid defender and Spanish national team player Dani Carvajal has reacted to comments made by his teammate, Brazilian Vinicius Junior. Vinicius suggested that Spain should not host the 2030 World Cup if the situation regarding racism in the country does not improve.

Carvajal told Marca:

I'd just say that we, [Vinícius'] teammates, the players, the manager, we're against any racist incident in stadiums. I know what Vini suffers. But I don't think that Spain doesn't deserve to host the World Cup. Spain has a huge cultural diversity ... Spain isn't a racist country.

The 2030 World Cup is set to take place in three countries: in addition to Spain, Portugal and Morocco will also host matches. Furthermore, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina are preparing to hold one opening match each.

Vinicius had previously admitted that he would like to see the World Cup moved from Spain due to the ongoing issues with racism in the country.

Madrid's Mayor José Almeida has demanded an apology from the Brazilian for his remarks about racism in Spain, which he deemed profoundly unjust.
