Benjamin Mendy Wins Lawsuit Against Manchester City

Former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has announced his victory in a lawsuit against the English football club regarding unpaid wages over a period of 18 months.

In July of last year, Mendy was acquitted of charges related to rape and attempted rape. During the investigation and ensuing legal proceedings, Manchester City sidelined the player from matches and halted his salary payments from 2021.

Mendy confirmed on his social media that the court ruled in favor of most of his claims, deeming the deductions from his wages, made by the club over 16 months and 23 days, as illegal.

The French player represented Manchester City from 2017 to 2023, appearing in a total of 75 matches, scoring two goals, and providing 12 assists.

Previously, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola stated in an interview with journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano that he would welcome former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to the club.
