Verstappen: The Most Important Thing for Me was to Stay Ahead on the First Lap

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen shared his emotions after the race at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The race took place on Sunday, July 2 in Spielberg (Austria). Verstappen showed the best result.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc (+5.155) finished second and Sergio Perez of Red Bull (+17.188) rounded out the top three.

Max Verstappen
The most important thing for me was the first lap, to just stay first there and I think that in itself all worked out pretty well. Our laps were excellent and I enjoyed the race. I don't like to think about the next title yet. I'm just enjoying the moment driving with this car, working with the team.

The 11th round of Formula 1 in 2023 will be held in Silverstone (UK) from 7 to 9 July.

The reigning champion of the organization is Verstappen, also leading the overall drivers' rating this season (229 points), ahead of second-ranked Sergio Perez of Red Bull (148).
