Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg has received a penalty involving a three-position loss on the starting grid for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as decided by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
The stewards' decision came after it was determined that Hulkenberg overtook two cars in the tunnel exiting the pit lane, an action deemed illegal due to safety concerns. As a result, Hulkenberg, who qualified fourth, will now start the race from seventh position.
Lando Norris from McLaren secured pole position in Abu Dhabi, followed by his teammate Oscar Piastri in second, and Carlos Sainz from Ferrari in third.
Earlier, it was revealed that Hulkenberg will earn a minimum of 5 million euros with Audi.
