Former five-division world champion, American boxer Floyd Mayweather, clarified the situation regarding an incident in London where he was reportedly attacked by a crowd.
Floyd Mayweather
Let me set the record straight… there’s no truth to the rumors going around. I wasn’t punched or touched in any way. What you’re seeing is just my security doing their job to keep things under control. I was in the UK for a quick 48-hour stop to do some shopping, and unfortunately, people let jealousy and negativity fuel false stories. I’m perfectly fine, and there’s really nothing more to it.
According to The Sun, the incident was sparked by Mayweather's support for Israel in the conflict with Palestine. It was also reported that the boxer shouted to the attackers that he takes pride in supporting Jews.
Mayweather last fought against John Gotti III in August 2024 in Mexico City. The bout went the distance and ended without a winner as it was an exhibition match, with victory only possible by knockout. Mayweather boasts 50 wins (27 by knockout) and no defeats in his professional boxing career.
