Former World Champion Wilder to Face Harper Instead of Shaw

Deontay Wilder, the former WBC heavyweight world champion, will step into the ring against fellow American Curtis Harper at a boxing event in April.

Initially, it was reported that Wilder's opponent would be his former sparring partner, Stephan Shaw.

Wilder is currently on a two-fight losing streak. His latest match, held in June 2024, ended in a knockout loss to Zhilei Zhang in the fifth round. Wilder’s record now stands at 43 wins (42 by knockout), four losses, and one draw.

Harper last fought in December 2024, securing a technical knockout victory over Francois Russell. His record is now 18 wins (12 by knockout) and 11 losses.
