The NBA has announced the finalists for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the 2024/25 season.
The contenders include Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Nikola Jokic has been in the NBA since 2015, playing exclusively for the Denver Nuggets. The Serbian center has been named the league's MVP three times and became a champion in 2023, marking a significant achievement in his career.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was selected 15th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2013 draft. He has participated in the All-Star Game seven times and made history earlier this year by achieving a historic triple-double.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played college basketball for the University of Kentucky. Drafted 11th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in 2018, he was immediately traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and has represented the Oklahoma City Thunder since 2019.
Previously, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in a playoff game. In related news, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
