Namungo FC vs Young Africans Prediction: The Yanga Boys must avoid defeat against the hosts

After losing three consecutive matches in all competitions, it’ll be interesting to see how Young Africans respond against Namungo at the Majaliwa Stadium on Friday. The hosts will strive to take advantage of the guests who have to travel down after their disappointing display in the CAF Champions League.

The Southern Killers are one of the two teams without a stalemate this season, heading here with another defeat on the road. They have been extremely terrible this campaign and might likely be relegated if things remain like this. They conceded once against Mashujaa on the road making it eight losses this campaign. 

Namungo have been inconsistent this season, losing eight games over their previous eleven games, as it has been an all-or-nothing for them.

Namungo have picked up nine points from a combined thirty-three, scoring five and conceding thirteen times. Namungo has managed two wins over their last five home matches this season.

Yanga Boys lost back-to-back matches for the first time since 2020 and suffered three consecutive defeats in all competitions since 2018. Some of the Young Africans players are yet to experience such a terrible run before as they head here with another defeat in the CAF Champions League. More recently in the league, they surrendered to a (1-3) loss against Tabora United. 

The new coach, Sead Ramovic, has a great task to accomplish as he’ll be saddled with the duties of retaining the league and probably winning the CAF Champions League. It’s one of the toughest jobs in the continent but I feel he’ll deliver.

It hasn’t been rosy for Yanga Boys in front of goal, and they have not been bad defensively, letting in just four goals this season. 

Young Africans have won all but once in their previous away-league games. 

Over their previous eleven meetings, Young Africans have won six and drawn five games against Namungo. The guests are in dire straits following their three consecutive losses in all competitions. Their self-esteem keeps dropping and only a win can revive them here. Namungo have also been below par this season, especially on their home turf. 

This game is a must-win for Yanga Boys to boost their confidence, especially in the ongoing CAF Champions League, and I’m trusting them to score before the break for 1.78.
