Senegal vs DR Congo Prediction: The Lions of Teranga are the favourite to amass the maximum points

On Thursday, the Lions of Teranga will square off against DR Congo at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade Stadium. Senegal will play their third game since their disappointing appearance in the just concluded AFCON Championship, while DR Congo head here for the first time after securing a fourth-place finish in Ivory Coast this year.

The African Champions are among the best teams in Africa and head here sky-high in confidence despite failing to defend their title. Senegal have lost twice in their last eighteen games, and we believe they will secure the maximum points here.

After their successful run in the AFCON Tournament, Sebastien Desabre's men will play their first match. DR Congo head here with a defeat and a victory in this round. They began their FIFA World Cup campaign with a comfortable (2-0) win over Mauritian but suffered a shocking defeat against Sudan away from home. 

Sebastien Desabre has been pretty solid since his appointment, and we expect a solid performance from his men here. 

The Lions of Teranga have been one of the most consistent teams in the continent over the years. They are blessed with a blend of young and experienced players. However, they’ll play without their most important player, Sadio Mane, for both FIFA Qualifiers. At the same time, DR Congo have named a strong squad for this clash and will play their first game for the first time since their successful outing at the AFCON Tournament. 

In the absence of Sadio Mane, Nickolas Jackson has been tipped to replace the Al Nasr man.
