Mozambique vs Somalia Prediction: The guests won’t be able to stand the attacking threats from the home team

On Friday, Mozambique will face off against Somalia at the Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto Stadium. The hosts will be keen to secure their second win in the group, while the visitors will try to stand in their way.

After ending their AFCON Tournament at the bottom of the log, Mozambique will continue their quest to play in the forthcoming World Cup tournament. Chiquinho Conde's men head here with a sound display against Botswana on the road as they scored three times while the hosts responded twice to secure their first win of the tournament but they suffered a defeat on their ground against Algeria. Mozambique presently occupy the 5th spot on the table, and this is their best chance to move up. 

Mozambique's last appearance in this competition earned them four points from a combined eighteen, but they have won three points already with seven games to be played.

The Ocean Stars are yet to feature in any competitive tournament before and have played twice this year. Somalia began their journey with a (3-1) defeat on the road against Algeria, followed by another home loss against Uganda. At the preliminary AFCON Qualifier, they were knocked out of the competition by Eswatini on (5-2) aggregate. 

Somalia are one of the lowest-ranked teams in this tournament, and their prayer here is not to concede much.

Mozambique showed some decent performances in the just concluded AFCON Tournament, even though they ended at the bottom of the log. Mozambique played out a (2-2) stalemate against Ghana and Egypt. Since the tournament, this will be their first appearance in a competitive match. At the same time, the guests have struggled in recent matches and have played just two games this year. They lack the quality to compete at the highest level as most of their players are locally based.
