Gabon vs Gambia Prediction: Gabon to return to winning ways

At Stade de Franceville, Gabon will host Gambia in the World Cup qualifying Group F in round 4. Let’s look into this game and provide a pick. 

Gabon's last encounter in this qualifier saw them battle it out with Gabon, and this side ended on the losing end in a game that ended 1-0. However, prior games to that defeat saw Gabon lose to Senegal and Congo in March. Regardless, this team did well in their earlier qualifiers, defeating Kenya and Burundi in games that ended 2-1 and 1-2, respectively. With six points accumulated from the first three games in this qualifier, Gabon are seated second in the Group F standings.

Gambia picked their first win in this World Cup qualifier, defeating Seychelles 5-1 last time out. In that game, we witnessed a 1-1 draw at the end of the first half, with Mohamed Badamosi putting the Gambia in the lead before Henriette leveling the scores. However, Gambia scored four times in the second half, this time with Musa Barrow, Yankuba Minteh, Mohamed Badamosi and Adama Sidibeh all hitting the back of the post. Presently, Gambia are seated 5th in Group F and a win could take them as close to third spot. 

Gambia have not been competitive enough, and we will need to see more from them on both ends of the field if they want a win on the road. On the other hand, Gabon have struggled in past games, but with home advantage here, I expect them to be able to win.
