Al Ahly vs Simba SC Prediction: The Red Devils will advance to the next round

The quest to conquer Africa continues as Al Ahly face off against Simba in the second leg of the Quarterfinal at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday night. Al Ahly are the most decorated team in the history of the tournament and are a step into the next round following their (0-1) victory on the road.

The Red Devils are one of the two sides that have yet to taste defeat in this tournament, as they head here with a slim (0-1) victory over Simba SC. Ahmed Nabil Koka opened the score line with a goal in the 4th minute to secure the maximum points for his side. Al Ahly are the most successful team in the history of the tournament having won it eleven times, and are the defending champions. The Red Devils had a decent run in the group phase, winning three while losing three times.

Simba SC, who wrapped up their campaign in second spot, were just goals ahead of third-placed Wydad Casablanca, thanks to their final game (6-0) emphatic victory over Galaxy FC. Simba SC picked up nine points from a combined eighteen, scoring nine and conceding twice. 

Things haven’t been the same for them in their domestic league, as they are seven points behind the league, although with a game at hand. Abdelhak Benchika's men will have to be at their best to get the better of the hosts.

In seven recent meetings against each other, Al Ahly have won three, while Simba SC have managed two victories and two matches ending in a stalemate. The reverse leg ended in a slim (0-1) win for Al Ahly, who managed the game properly. Simba SC were not really bad but were unlucky after their seven shots at goal were stopped by the Al Ahly goalkeeper. Both teams were solid at the back and very dangerous going forward in their recent meeting.

For Simba SC, Chamam and Baleke are expected to start up front, while Ngoma and Yasin will partner in the midfield.
