Libya vs Rwanda Prediction: The Mediterranean Knights will secure the maximum points in this encounter but will definitely concede

On Wednesday, the Libyan National team will square off against Rwanda in the opening game of the AFCON qualifiers at the Martyrs of February Stadium. The group, which consists of Nigeria, Benin, Rwanda and Libya, is assumed as one of the toughest groups in the round. The hosts will be keen to get off to a flying start on their ground, while the Wasps will be pleased with a point at least here.

Since the arrival of Milutin Sredojevic, the Libya National Team have lost twice in ten games. They suffered their first defeat after nine games against Cape Verde on the road. Before then, they secured (2-1) victory over Mauritius on their ground. 

Libya haven’t played in the AFCON since 2012; they have been poor both home and away before now. The Mediterranean Knights wrapped up their campaign at the bottom of their group in the previous edition of this competition.

Ahmed Krawaa has been influential for the hosts in recent games and has provided an assist or score in five of their last seven matches.

The Wasps jumped nine places up in the latest FIFA ranking following their recent run. Rwanda have managed just two defeats over their last twelve matches in all competitions. 

Torsten Spittler's men will strive to make it to the AFCON Tournament for the first time in their history. 

Rwanda failed to take most of their chances in their (0-1) victory over Lesotho in their most recent fixture. The result means they have now drawn seven of their last fourteen games.

The hosts have won three and drawn once against Rwanda over their previous four meetings. Libya have improved massively in recent games, especially since the arrival of their Serbian coach. The Mediterranean Knights are a football-playing nation but have never won a significant African trophy. Their new Serbian coach has instilled a new spirit in the team, and we expect an exciting game between both teams. At the same time, Rwanda have been up and running lately and have conceded just a goal over their last six matches in all competitions.

The Mediterranean Knights have never lost against the visitors since 2015 and considering the tough fixtures they have next, they’ll be desperate for the maximum points.
