Borussia Dortmund vs Villarreal Prediction: the Bumbelbees to Win and Score a Lot

In the 2022/23 season, Borussia had every chance of winning the long-awaited championship, as they were leading the standings one round before the finish. Still, they failed to get the necessary result in the final match and ended up second. In the La Liga, Villarreal does not fight for places in the Champions League zone but often gets into lesser European cups. Last season was an exception, as they took only eighth place in the standings. In the summer, the squad underwent a rebuild. Goalkeepers Pepe Reina and Filip Jorgensen, defenders Alberto Moreno and Johan Mojica, and forwards Diaz Brereton and Alexander Sorloth left the club. Among the new arrivals are Pape Gueye and Nicolas Pepe. During pre-season, the club had four meetings: defeats to Leicester and Saint-Etienne - 1:2 and 3:1, a victory over Sion - 3:1, and a draw with Nottingham - 0:0.

Borussia has had mixed success in the summer friendlies, but in their last meeting, the Bumblebees got their first win. In that match, we saw many of Dortmund's key players in the squad, who showed a good level. Undoubtedly, with each new game, they will only grow and get used to Nuri Sahin's demands, and therefore, we can expect some results from them. Still, Villarreal still looks a bit weaker, and the lineup losses in the off-season affect their game.
