Entity vs PSG.Quest Prediction: the Opponents are Equally Strong At the Moment

Fishman and company made it into the top 16 teams at the Riyadh Masters 2024 relatively easily. The play-in stage was a good warm-up for Entity, and we’re looking forward to the most crucial matches of this summer. The team got a pretty good draw in Group B, so there’s a good chance they’ll make it into the top four. 

First of all, Entity is in great shape. The current squad was put together in the winter, and they had a tough time in the qualifications, missing out on many tier-1 tournaments. But by May, the five players had learned to work together and perform effectively as a team. Secondly, Entity is just as strong as BetBoom Team or Team Liquid in terms of the players they have on their teams. Watson is always at the top of the leaderboard in terms of MMR. No[o]ne has won five majors. DM is a longtime player on the tier-1 scene. The Kataomi and Fishman pairing has been going on for about three years. Each of these players could fit perfectly into any top team. What about all five coming together in Entity? Thirdly, Riyadh Masters 2024 is being played on a new patch, 7.36, which has only been used for the DreamLeague Season 23 finals at the highest level. Teams will be playing competitive Dota 2 for the first time on the new update, and Entity is always at its most dangerous at times like this. 

We shouldn’t write off Entity because of previous failures. This is a different team in Riyadh: motivated, warmed up at play-in, with a positive background, and won at the tier-2 level. Fishman and company could be a threat not only to PSG.Quest, but also to the rest of Group B.

PSG.Quest also confidently made it to the tournament’s main stage despite some initial doubts about their form. The team was consistently ranked behind Team Falcons in the MENA region throughout 2024, so spectators rarely got to see them play in the first half of the year. However, the Falcons got in through an invite to the Riyadh Masters, while PSG.Quest only had to win Nigma Galaxy and a few local events to qualify.

The TA2000 collective beat the favorites who didn’t attend the play-in and tied with the outsiders. However, the results have been pretty mixed throughout the history of this lineup. PSG.Quest is known for seizing victories from top opponents but also tends to drop points against weaker teams. Maybe it’s psychological or about having the courage and motivation to fight only with the best, without worrying about stability. Either way, when they’re at their best, PSG.Quest can make it to the later stages of tournaments and cause problems for the favorites. At the previous Riyadh Masters 2024, the team finished in the top 8, even though they finished the group stage in first place.

The Quests place a lot of emphasis on individual performance. The team might have issues with draft picks and decision-making, but other factors become less critical if the players are good at navigating the interface. In European matchmaking, the guys have high rankings and often put on a great show. Daxak said that if PSG.Quest does a good job of preparing for the tournament, they can beat any team. The match in Group B will show what kind of work the team has done, but based on the play-in, all opponents will have a tough time.

The teams have met three times over the past year, with Entity coming out on top in all of them. Fishman and his team are more well-played than their opponents. If Watson or No[o]ne’s skill is down, Entity will get back into the game with their moves. The latter’s recent results are also better than the Quests’. Anything is possible in BO2 roulette, though we’ll probably stick with the favorite.
