02:00 PM UTC: England vs Australia, Group 1, Super 12s, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

The oldest cricketing rivals England and Australia will face each other in what will be both’s teams’ third game of the tournament. Both teams have won their previous two encounters and this game promises to be a fun-filled affair.

Bowling might

Both teams possess a plethora of fast bowling options. The main pace trio of Australia in Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazelwood has already produced some scintillating performances. Meanwhile, for England, Tymal Mills and Chris Woakes have been equally impressive, decimating opponents with Mills’ fast bowling and Woakes’ swing abilities. In terms of spinners, England has a more power-packed attack with the combination of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid. While Australia’s Adam Zampa comes off two wickets for 12 runs in a 150+ runs affair versus Sri Lanka.

Top-order thumpers and middle-order stabilizers

If the last game is any indication then Australian veteran openers Aaron Finch and David Warner have regained form. Both batters are great players of fast bowling and Warner played a superb 65 runs innings in his last game while Finch garnered a 37 runs effort in just 23 balls. Meanwhile, for England, Jason Roy blew away Bangladesh’s bowling with a 60+ runs innings and these signs can be scary for opponents with Johnny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan, and Liam Livingstone also in a sturdy English outfit.

Australia’s middle order is no less intimidating with Steven Smith already playing two solid knocks and Marcus Stoinis playing a couple of cameos to bring the team home. On the other hand, with a player like Glenn Maxwell, you are always on the hunt for a big total, while batting first or second. The two teams are also superb fielding side and this has the making of a cracking contest.
